Had a little chat with my sister which lead to a wakeup call. I'm sure she had no clue that what she said resonated with me the way it did, but it's been on my mind so I want to share.
I was admiring the progress and moderate success of someone I knew growing up and I guess part of my admiration turned into jealousy that someone (younger I might add) as managed to accomplish a fair bit for themselves. Particularly in Sweden which I've always personally felt is an entrepreneurial's nightmare. Being a "socialistic" country and all, capitalism and becoming a self made millionaire aren't the views I remember being at the forefront. Probably changed, haven't lived there in over 7 years.

Anyways, sharing this with my sis her response was that we're building (or gathering) our treasures in heaven. Such a simple but profound statement reminded me what truly matters in this life. Sure we all want silver and gold, but at the end of the day, that's not our ticket to heaven. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against being rich at all, in fact I'm well aware that money is much needed to further the kingdom of God. And there's nothing wrong with having nice things, it's just that it shouldn't be our main focus.
"Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you". (Matt 6:33 KJV). That's what's up! Simple. No need to loose any sleep about how and when, who and where. If we keep our focus on God, "all these things" will find us.
At the end of the day they're just "things". No need to be jealous over your neighbours' "riches". As long as we've got Jesus, we're doing quite alright :)
Bless & Love Y'all!
Stay Pretty & Precious,
Peace
