How to Stay Committed

,
In line with my recent re-commitment to blogging on a daily basis I thought I'd share my thoughts on just that; commitment.

Being committed to anything requires time, effort and energy. It may at times require some sacrifice, some tears, but also joy. Anything or anyone that we commit to ultimately brings joy to our life or a sense of purpose which is why we commit in the first place.

Be it a spouse, a workout regimen, or your calling, you have to honour it, be true to it, and give it your all. So how exactly do we do this when things suck? The times when we want nothing more but to call it a day, end the chapter of that book, and move on to something less demanding. Those are the times that your level of commitment will truly be tested.

We know that life isn't a walk in the park, but to keep us motivated and eager for what life has to offer we have to find our core and remember why we started (committed) to begin with. Take the time to ask yourself why. Why did this commitment mean something in the beginning? If your answer still lines up with your goals, vision and beliefs today, then you owe it yourself to keep going.

There are times when others will seemingly benefit more from your commitment than yourself, but then you have to remember that if it's in line with your purpose, all the hard work you put in will be rewarded. It may not be from the very person on the receiving end, however God will reward you one way or another.

It's vital to pray on anything concerning your life, but especially something that's a commitment on your part should be inline with what God has for you. There are instances where your time indeed is up concerning a certain commitment and your spirit will reveal it to you. If you want confirmation from God, ask Him. He'll give to you either through a friend, a pastor, could even be a stranger. Be open to receive His word concerning your life cause it could come from a source you least expect. Your spirit however will confirm to you that it's the confirmation you were seeking.

In those times when you feel like giving up, if needed, seek council with others. There's no shame in admitting that times are tough or that you're struggling with something. The enemy wants to isolate you so that he can more easily persuade you. Don't fall for it! Lol.

"Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isa 40:30-31 NIV)

Today's Take Away Thought: Remaining committed may not always be easy, but there's grace enough for you to keep on going. Get back to the source, turn to Him for guidance, encouragement and confirmation.

Bless & Love Y'all!

Stay Pretty & Precious,
Peace
