My appreciation and view of my lunch date today reminded me of being appreciative even for the smallest things. Many times we ask God for these big things and miracles, which there's no wrong in doing, however we can sometimes miss the little things that God does and provides.
There's no such thing as a small blessing. Bible says, in all things give thanks (1 Thess 5:18). This further reminds me of the story of the drowning man. There are a few different versions of the story, but basically a man is drowning and a boat comes by and offers to help him. He declines, stating that God will save him. 2 other offers of help approach him, and each time he declines stating that God will save him. Upon drowning when he asked God why didn't you save me, God answers he sent him 3 chances/options/alternatives.
Point being, don't be too wrapped up in your point of view on how God will bless you, because truth is, He blesses us constantly. Our perception of how His blessing will be wrapped needs to go or you might miss the blessing all together. Life has so much to offer but somehow we're too busy planning, stressing and fussing to notice. So this weekend, enjoy what life has to offer :)
